Karen Britton
Managing Director + Founder, Kumi Foundation

Karen is the founder of Kumi Foundation and a senior business executive with over 20 years’ experience leading strategy, operations, and organisational transformation in complex, global environments.

A Chartered Fellow and former Trustee of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Karen brings a rare blend of commercial insight and frontline development expertise. She has spent over two decades working at the intersection of business and social impact, with a particular focus on strengthening the connection between corporate responsibility and community-led development.

Alongside her leadership of Kumi Foundation, Karen has held trustee, advisory, and executive roles across the charity sector for more than 16 years. She has worked extensively with grassroots organisations in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Cambodia, helping to expand reach, improve delivery outcomes, and build sustainable, locally owned models of impact.
