Our story
Where deep supply chain expertise meets grassroots impact.
Kumi Foundation was born out of the work of Kumi Consulting, a global advisory firm with decades of experience helping businesses navigate complex supply chain risks in some of the most challenging environments in the world.
Through that work, we saw both the opportunities and the limitations. We worked at the highest levels of industry, advising on human rights, ethical sourcing, and responsible investment, but we also saw how hard it was to translate corporate ambition into real change on the ground.
At the same time, we were partnering with grassroots organisations, small, often underfunded, but deeply rooted in their communities. They held the trust, insight, and lived experience to tackle the issues that matter most, poverty, displacement, inequality, but lacked the long-term partnerships to scale their impact.
We bring these two worlds together.
We bring together deep experience from inside global supply chains with the lived knowledge of the communities most affected by them , building the trust and structure needed to drive real, lasting change.
We don’t see this as charity. We see it as a necessary rebalancing a way to ensure that the communities and workers who sustain global supply chains can also share in the prosperity they help create.
Through strategic partnerships, investment, and practical support, we drive sustainable impact at the intersection of business and community, building resilient, ethical supply chains where everyone benefits.
That’s our story and it’s only just beginning.

“I’m truly inspired to work together with our charity partners to create stronger, more just outcomes for the men, women, and children who power our global supply chains”
— Karen Britton, Managing Director + Founder, Kumi Foundation
